Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair of streets, sidewalks, storm drains, and public facilities.
- Operate heavy machinery and vehicles, including dump trucks, backhoes, and loaders, following all safety protocols.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and weather-related incidents promptly and effectively.
- Conduct inspections of municipal infrastructure to identify potential hazards or repair needs.
- Collaborate with a team of engineers and inspectors to execute large-scale municipal projects.
- Ensure all work areas are clean, organized, and compliant with environmental and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid California Class C Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in public works, general maintenance, or a related skilled trade.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and safety standards (OSHA).
- Ability to read blueprints and technical schematics is a plus.
