About the Role
As a Public Works Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and construction of municipal infrastructure. You will work alongside a diverse team of professionals to ensure our streets, signs, and public spaces meet the highest standards of excellence.

Responsibilities
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance on city streets, sidewalks, and public right-of-ways.
- Repair and maintain traffic signs, signals, and street lighting systems to ensure public safety.
- Operate heavy machinery and hand tools, including backhoes, dump trucks, and jackhammers, safely and efficiently.
- Inspect infrastructure projects for compliance with city codes and engineering specifications.
- Respond to service requests and work orders from the public and internal departments in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and equipment maintenance logs.
- Collaborate with other municipal departments, such as Parks and Recreation and Fire Rescue, as needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Class C Texas Driver's License with a good driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in public works, construction, or general maintenance preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and regulations is highly desirable.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate power tools and vehicles.
- Strong commitment to public service and a positive attitude.
