Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on public parks, playgrounds, sidewalks, and streets.
- Operate heavy machinery, including backhoes, dump trucks, and mowers, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Assist in snow and ice removal operations during inclement weather conditions.
- Maintain and clean public restrooms, trash receptacles, and facilities to ensure high standards of hygiene.
- Monitor waste management systems and report any necessary repairs or safety hazards.
- Interact with the public professionally to answer inquiries and resolve maintenance issues.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Virginia Class C Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in landscaping, construction, or public works is preferred but not required.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs repeatedly and standing for extended periods.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
