Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy construction equipment, including graders, rollers, and backhoes.
- Perform routine and emergency repairs on city streets, sidewalks, and storm drains.
- Maintain and clean public right-of-ways, parks, and facilities.
- Inspect infrastructure for damage and report necessary repairs to supervisors.
- Adhere to all OSHA safety regulations and municipal policies.
- Assist in snow and ice removal operations during inclement weather.
- Collaborate with other municipal departments on large-scale projects.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in public works, construction, or general maintenance preferred.
- Ability to obtain a Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within a specified timeframe.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of construction techniques and safety protocols.
