Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repair of city streets, sidewalks, parks, and public buildings to ensure safety and accessibility for residents.
  • Operate and maintain heavy machinery, including dump trucks, front-end loaders, and pavement breakers, following all safety protocols.
  • Assist in the collection and disposal of solid waste, recycling, and yard waste in designated areas.
  • Inspect municipal infrastructure for damage, wear, or hazards, and report findings to supervisors for immediate remediation.
  • Respond to emergency requests and weather-related maintenance issues, such as flood control and debris removal.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Valid Florida Class C Driver’s License with a clean driving record is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in public works, construction, landscaping, or general maintenance preferred.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50+ pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools, as well as familiarity with heavy equipment operation is a plus.
