Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance of public facilities, parks, and infrastructure
- Operate heavy machinery (snow plows, street sweepers, etc.) during emergencies
- Conduct safety inspections and report infrastructure hazards
- Collaborate with emergency response teams during weather crises
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory
- Support community events setup and public space beautification
- Adhere to all OSHA and municipal safety protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED required)
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years heavy equipment operation experience
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to work rotating shifts and emergency call-outs
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Basic knowledge of DC municipal codes
- Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in all weather conditions
