Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on municipal facilities including HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical components
- Conduct regular inspections of public infrastructure (parks, buildings, transportation assets) and document findings
- Operate heavy machinery and specialized equipment safely and efficiently
- Coordinate emergency response for facility disruptions and natural disasters
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory management
- Train junior staff on safety protocols and technical procedures
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in facilities management or related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial or municipal maintenance
- Valid California Class C driver's license with clean driving record
- Certification in at least two trades (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical)
- OSHA 30-hour construction certification
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in outdoor conditions year-round
- Proficiency with CMMS software (e.g., Maximo) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Spanish bilingual proficiency strongly preferred
