Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city infrastructure including sidewalks, streetlights, and park facilities
- Operate heavy machinery (snowplows, graders, mowers) with precision and safety awareness
- Conduct daily inspections of public assets and document maintenance activities
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on emergency response and storm recovery operations
- Ensure compliance with municipal regulations, OSHA standards, and environmental protocols
- Participate in seasonal projects like road resurfacing, vegetation management, and facility repairs
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and equipment status
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years in municipal maintenance or construction
- Valid Minnesota Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class B) with clean driving record
- Certification in heavy equipment operation and OSHA safety protocols preferred
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and spatial awareness
- Excellent communication abilities for coordinating with supervisors and team members
- Pass background check and pre-employment physical examination
- Experience with GPS technology and maintenance tracking software
