Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and repairs of municipal infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and public buildings
- Operate heavy equipment (e.g., trucks, graders, snowplows) safely and efficiently
- Manage landscaping and park maintenance including tree pruning and seasonal cleanup
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests during inclement weather or public safety events
- Coordinate with contractors and city departments for project execution
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment usage
- Adhere to OSHA and municipal safety regulations at all times
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred
- Minimum 3 years' experience in public works, construction, or facility maintenance
- Valid commercial driver's license (Class B or higher) with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification
- Proficiency with basic hand tools and power equipment
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Must pass background check and drug screening
