Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city streets, sidewalks, and traffic signage.
- Operate heavy machinery, including dump trucks, backhoes, and street sweepers, in accordance with safety protocols.
- Inspect municipal infrastructure to identify potential hazards or areas requiring immediate attention.
- Respond to and assist with emergency maintenance requests and public service inquiries.
- Maintain accurate logs and reports regarding work performed, materials used, and site conditions.
- Ensure all work sites are kept clean, organized, and free of debris.
- Collaborate with other municipal departments and contractors to coordinate large-scale projects.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Class C Texas Driver’s License with a good driving record.
- Previous experience in public works, construction, landscaping, or general maintenance is preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly throughout the day.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is a plus.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions and on-call shifts as required.
- Strong commitment to public service and safety compliance.
