This is an immediate opening for a Municipal Maintenance Worker who is passionate about community service and maintaining the infrastructure that keeps our city running smoothly. Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance of city streets, sidewalks, and public facilities to ensure optimal conditions.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery, including snow plows, dump trucks, and jackhammers.
- Assist in the collection, disposal, and recycling of solid waste materials.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and weather-related incidents, such as snow removal.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, OSHA guidelines, and environmental regulations while on duty.
- Inspect infrastructure for damage or wear and report findings to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean, organized work vehicle and equipment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED certificate.
- Valid Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and push heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) for extended periods.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, rain, and snow.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is preferred but not required.
- Strong commitment to public service, teamwork, and safety.
