Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance and repair of city streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems.
- Operate and maintain heavy municipal equipment, including dump trucks, graders, and excavators.
- Inspect public property for hazards, code violations, and maintenance needs.
- Landscape and maintain public parks, greenways, and right-of-ways.
- Respond to emergency service requests and weather-related incidents promptly.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with OSHA safety standards and municipal regulations.
- Collaborate with other city departments to coordinate large-scale infrastructure projects.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Florida Class B Commercial Driverβs License (CDL) is preferred but not mandatory for entry-level; training provided.
- Physically capable of performing heavy labor in various weather conditions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is a plus.
