Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city infrastructure including sidewalks, curbs, and storm drains
- Operate light machinery and equipment for landscaping and park maintenance
- Assist with public facility upkeep, including cleaning and minor repairs
- Respond to citizen service requests regarding municipal property concerns
- Participate in seasonal projects like snow removal and disaster response
- Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Document work activities and maintain equipment logs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid North Carolina driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in various weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and equipment operation
- Strong communication skills for interacting with residents and colleagues
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision
- Preferred: 1+ years of maintenance or construction experience
- Must pass background check and drug screening
