Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of street maintenance and sanitation crews to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Monitor and enforce strict adherence to all city safety regulations, OSHA standards, and operational procedures.
- Manage inventory levels of equipment, tools, and materials, initiating purchase orders as necessary to prevent downtime.
- Respond promptly to citizen inquiries and service requests regarding public works issues.
- Collaborate with other municipal departments, including Planning and Engineering, to align maintenance schedules with broader city goals.
- Conduct regular site inspections to assess the condition of roads, sidewalks, and public facilities.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate staff performance to foster a high-performing team culture.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Civil Engineering, Public Administration, or related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in public works, construction management, or a related field.
- Valid Ohio driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical labor as needed.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and municipal code requirements.
