Responsibilities
- Perform general labor duties, including loading, unloading, and transporting construction materials and debris.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery and equipment, such as dump trucks, rollers, and loaders, in accordance with safety protocols.
- Assist in the repair, maintenance, and resurfacing of city streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems.
- Ensure all work sites adhere to strict safety regulations, OSHA standards, and environmental compliance guidelines.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and public service inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct routine inspections of public infrastructure to identify potential hazards or maintenance needs.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Licensing: Valid Class C Texas Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds frequently, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions (heat, rain, cold).
- Experience: Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or public works is preferred but not mandatory.
- Skills: Basic knowledge of hand and power tools, ability to follow verbal and written instructions, and strong teamwork skills.
- Background: Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and a criminal background check.
