Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on public infrastructure (parks, streets, facilities)
- Operate municipal machinery (snow plows, garbage trucks, landscaping equipment)
- Ensure compliance with city regulations and safety protocols
- Respond to public inquiries and service requests with professionalism
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on community improvement projects
- Document work activities and maintain accurate records
- Participate in emergency response during weather events or crises
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid New York State Driver's License (Class B or higher preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of municipal or construction experience
- OSHA 10-hour certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in all weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- NYC residency required within 180 days of hire
