Responsibilities
- Monitor system health, performance metrics, and server logs during off-peak hours to proactively identify and resolve potential issues.
- Execute scheduled software patches, security updates, and system backups to ensure operational continuity.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity problems, hardware failures, and software errors with minimal supervision.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and incident reports for day-shift team handovers.
- Collaborate with day-shift teams via secure communication channels to escalate critical incidents and ensure seamless transitions.
- Enforce strict adherence to state security protocols and compliance standards.
- Participate in on-call rotations for emergency system outages.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in system administration, network operations, or IT support.
- Proven ability to work rotating night shifts (e.g., 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM) reliably.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, and Virtualization technologies.
- Experience with ticketing systems and remote monitoring tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Must successfully pass a thorough background investigation and drug screening.
