Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and system hardware/software to ensure 24/7 operational integrity.
- Provide Tier 2 technical support and troubleshooting for internal government staff via phone, email, and remote desktop tools.
- Perform nightly system backups, patch management, and routine security audits to protect sensitive government data.
- Respond to and resolve help desk tickets with a focus on speed and accuracy during off-hours.
- Collaborate with the day-shift team to document issues, update knowledge bases, and ensure seamless handovers.
- Ensure strict adherence to government security protocols and compliance standards (NIST, FISMA).
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in IT support or help desk environments.
- Valid CompTIA A+ or higher certification is required.
- Proven experience working night shifts or rotating schedules is mandatory.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, Windows Server administration, and Active Directory.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be a US Citizen and able to pass a background check and security clearance process.
