Responsibilities
- Monitor Infrastructure: Continuously monitor server health, network performance, and system alerts during the night shift to ensure 99.9% uptime for government applications.
- Ticket Resolution: Prioritize and resolve Level 1 and Level 2 IT support tickets submitted by city employees, escalating complex issues to senior staff when necessary.
- Security Compliance: Enforce security protocols, conduct routine vulnerability scans, and respond to unauthorized access attempts during off-peak hours.
- Hardware Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on workstations, printers, and peripherals to minimize downtime during the day shift.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed logs of all incidents, resolutions, and system configurations in the city's ServiceNow database.
- Backup Verification: Verify the successful execution of automated nightly backups and data restoration procedures.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or network operations.
- Availability: Must be available to work a rotating night shift schedule (e.g., 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM or 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Office Suite, and basic knowledge of Linux/Unix systems.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write clear technical documentation.
