Responsibilities
- Monitor Infrastructure: Continuously observe network traffic, system logs, and server performance to ensure 24/7 availability and optimal functionality.
- Incident Response: Detect, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity threats, intrusions, and anomalies in real-time using advanced monitoring tools.
- Containment: Execute incident response procedures to isolate compromised systems and mitigate risks before they escalate.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed logs of system changes, incidents, and troubleshooting activities within the ticketing system.
- System Maintenance: Perform routine checks and updates on firewalls, routers, and switches to ensure security patches are applied correctly.
- Collaboration: Communicate effectively with day-shift teams and management during shift handovers to ensure seamless operational continuity.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess (or be able to obtain) a Secret Security Clearance.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in Network Operations, NOC, or Network Engineering.
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+, Network+, or equivalent industry certifications are highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and experience with firewalls (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto).
- Availability: Must be willing and able to work the Night Shift (10:00 PM - 6:00 AM) on a rotating schedule.
