Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance, optimization, and monitoring of local and wide-area networks (LAN/WAN) during evening and night hours.
- Execute critical server maintenance, patch management, and disaster recovery protocols to ensure maximum business continuity.
- Monitor system performance, logs, and security alerts, responding immediately to potential threats or hardware failures.
- Collaborate seamlessly with the day-shift technical team to document infrastructure changes and resolve outstanding technical issues.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls within the Active Directory environment to maintain data security.
- Perform routine hardware upgrades and cable management to support future scalability.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in network administration or systems support, preferably in a government or 24/7 operations setting.
- An Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Strong proficiency with TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and routing protocols.
- Experience configuring and managing firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues independently.
- Must be available to work rotating night shifts (e.g., 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM).
