As a Night Shift Public Safety Officer, you'll operate within the City's 911 dispatch center, ensuring rapid coordination of police, fire, and medical services during overnight operations. Responsibilities
- Dispatch emergency services (police, fire, EMS) during night shift hours
- Maintain accurate incident documentation and radio communications
- Operate Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems and emergency notification platforms
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical nighttime incidents
- Conduct quality assurance checks on emergency protocols
- Provide crisis intervention support to callers in distress
- Participate in continuous training and scenario-based drills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred
- Minimum 1 year public safety or emergency services experience
- Valid Oregon driver's license with clean record
- Ability to pass criminal background check and polygraph examination
- Proficiency in multi-tasking under high-pressure situations
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Availability to work rotating night shifts including weekends/holidays
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance
