Responsibilities
- Patrol designated wilderness areas to enforce regulations and ensure visitor safety
- Conduct environmental education programs for schools and community groups
- Perform habitat restoration and wildlife monitoring in sensitive ecosystems
- Manage visitor centers and provide interpretive services
- Respond to emergencies and coordinate search-and-rescue operations
- Lead volunteer programs and community outreach initiatives
- Collect field data for resource management projects
- Collaborate with federal, state, and local agencies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Natural Resources, Environmental Science, or related field
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate 4WD vehicles
- Wilderness First Aid and CPR certification required
- Experience with GIS mapping and field data collection tools
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and in remote locations
- Knowledge of federal land management policies (NEPA, FLPMA)
- Public speaking and conflict resolution skills
- Physical ability to hike 10+ miles with 30lb pack
