Responsibilities
- Conduct routine patrols to enforce park regulations and ensure visitor safety
- Provide visitor assistance, educational programs, and emergency response services
- Monitor wildlife habitats and report environmental concerns or violations
- Operate park facilities including entrance stations, campgrounds, and visitor centers
- Collaborate with law enforcement during emergency situations and wildlife incidents
- Maintain accurate records of visitor interactions, incidents, and resource conditions
- Participate in habitat restoration projects and conservation initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of outdoor recreation or natural resources experience
- Valid Texas Class C Driver's License with clean driving record
- Certification in First Aid/CPR (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Strong communication skills with ability to de-escalate conflict situations
- Physical ability to work in extreme weather conditions and traverse rugged terrain
- Basic knowledge of Texas wildlife, flora, and park ecosystems
- Ability to work flexible weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime
- Pass background check and drug screening as required for state employment
