Responsibilities
- Patrol park areas to ensure visitor safety and compliance with park regulations
- Conduct interpretive programs and educational workshops for weekend visitors
- Monitor park facilities, wildlife, and natural resources; report maintenance needs
- Assist with search and rescue operations during weekend peak visitation
- Issue permits and provide information about park rules and conservation efforts
- Collaborate with law enforcement during emergency situations
- Prepare detailed incident and activity reports for weekend operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in environmental science preferred
- Valid Texas Class C driver's license with clean driving record
- First Aid/CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime
- Experience in outdoor recreation, park operations, or conservation work
- Strong communication skills and ability to handle diverse visitor inquiries
- Physical ability to walk long distances, lift 25 lbs, and work in variable weather
