Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance of park grounds including turf care, irrigation systems, and facility upkeep
- Operate light machinery (mowers, trimmers) and hand tools safely and efficiently
- Lead community engagement activities including youth sports programs and cultural events
- Monitor park usage, enforce safety protocols, and report maintenance needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on beautification and sustainability projects
- Conduct routine inspections of playgrounds and recreational equipment
- Assist in emergency response during weather events or facility incidents
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in environmental science preferred
- Valid California driver's license and clean driving record
- 1+ years in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or recreation services
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks in varying weather
- Experience with irrigation systems and basic equipment maintenance
- Strong customer service skills and conflict resolution abilities
- Spanish bilingual proficiency highly desirable
