Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain park grounds, including mowing, weeding, and landscaping to ensure a pristine appearance.
- Perform routine maintenance on athletic fields, playgrounds, and park structures, ensuring all equipment is safe and functional.
- Clean and sanitize park restrooms, pavilions, and facilities to maintain high hygiene standards.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of recreational events, sports leagues, and community programs.
- Monitor park areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations and report maintenance issues.
- Assist with minor repairs to fencing, benches, and signage as needed.
- Interact with the public in a friendly and professional manner, answering questions and providing directions.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods, including lifting up to 50 lbs and operating heavy machinery.
- Valid Tennessee Class D Driver’s License (required for travel between park locations).
- Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to follow safety guidelines for equipment operation.
- Strong work ethic and a commitment to community service.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are mandatory.
- Experience with landscaping or grounds maintenance is a plus but not required.
