The City of Stockton is looking for enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our dynamic Parks and Recreation team. We are currently seeking Part-Time Workers to help maintain our beautiful public spaces and ensure our residents have safe, enjoyable recreational environments.
In this role, you will contribute to the daily operations of our parks, sports complexes, and community centers. Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and landscaping duties, including mowing, weeding, trimming, and litter removal.
- Ensure the cleanliness and safety of park facilities, playgrounds, and sports fields.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of recreational events, sports leagues, and community programs.
- Monitor park areas to ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
- Operate basic power equipment and hand tools in a safe and efficient manner.
- Interact positively with the public, providing excellent customer service and assistance as needed.
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor immediately.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, rain, etc.).
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and walking long distances.
- Basic knowledge of landscaping, maintenance, or tools is a strong plus.
- Strong commitment to customer service and community engagement.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Valid California Driver’s License (not always required, but preferred for mobility).
