In this pivotal role, you will ensure our parks, trails, and recreational facilities remain safe, clean, and inviting for residents and visitors. You will be part of a department that values hard work, community engagement, and environmental stewardship.
Responsibilities
- Maintain Grounds: Perform mowing, edging, trimming, and landscaping duties to keep park areas pristine.
- Facility Upkeep: Clean restrooms, picnic areas, and playground equipment to ensure high standards of hygiene.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate and maintain landscaping machinery, including mowers, tractors, and trimmers.
- Event Support: Assist with the setup, maintenance, and breakdown of community events, sports leagues, and festivals.
- General Maintenance: Conduct minor repairs, painting, and waste management tasks throughout the parks.
- Public Interaction: Provide excellent customer service to park visitors and answer inquiries regarding park rules and amenities.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- License: Valid Florida Driver’s License required.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
- Experience: Prior experience in landscaping, custodial work, or grounds maintenance is preferred but not mandatory.
- Skills: Basic knowledge of power tools and landscaping equipment.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
