Responsibilities
- Perform general landscaping duties, including mowing, trimming, weeding, and fertilizing park areas, athletic fields, and medians.
- Operate and maintain landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and edgers in a safe and efficient manner.
- Clean and maintain restrooms, picnic areas, and park facilities to ensure high standards of hygiene and safety.
- Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of park structures, playground equipment, and fencing.
- Remove litter, debris, and hazards from park grounds to ensure a pleasant visitor experience.
- Participate in community events and recreational programs by setting up and tearing down equipment as needed.
- Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or vandalism to the Parks Supervisor immediately.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid California Class C Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record required.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Basic knowledge of landscaping practices and power tool operation is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to public service.
