Responsibilities
- Technical Support: Provide tier-1 and tier-2 technical support to federal employees, including hardware troubleshooting, software installation, and network connectivity issues.
- Compliance Management: Assist in maintaining IT compliance with federal regulations (FISMA, NIST) and agency-specific security policies.
- Asset Management: Track and manage hardware inventory, including laptops, tablets, and peripherals, ensuring accurate records are kept in the government database.
- User Training: Conduct training sessions and create documentation to help staff navigate federal software systems and security protocols effectively.
- Help Desk Operations: Respond to help desk tickets in a timely manner, prioritizing urgent system outages that impact federal operations.
- System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on workstations and servers to ensure optimal performance and security.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or a related technical role.
- Education: Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field is preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Clearance: Must be eligible for a Public Trust security clearance.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Active Directory, and basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS).
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Flexibility: Ability to work a part-time schedule, including occasional evenings or weekends if required for system maintenance.
