Responsibilities
- Maintain and organize a wide range of official city records, including permits, licenses, and public documents, ensuring accurate indexing and retrieval.
- Assist the public and staff with inquiries regarding record requests, providing courteous and clear information in accordance with the Colorado Open Records Act.
- Digitize and archive physical records into the city's electronic document management system, ensuring data integrity and security.
- Perform data entry tasks with a high degree of accuracy, updating databases and filing systems as required.
- Monitor office supplies and inventory for the records department, submitting reorder requests as needed.
- Collaborate with other city departments to ensure seamless information flow and document sharing.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a records management, administrative assistant, or government office setting is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive government information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift and move boxes of records weighing up to 25 pounds.
