Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve park grounds, including mowing, edging, trimming, and general landscaping.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of restrooms, picnic areas, and playgrounds to ensure high standards of hygiene.
- Assist with the setup, execution, and breakdown of community events, festivals, and sports leagues.
- Monitor park facilities to ensure they are secure, safe, and in good working order.
- Report maintenance issues, hazards, or safety concerns to the Parks Supervisor immediately.
- Interact positively with park visitors, providing directions and answering general inquiries.
- Operate light maintenance equipment, such as lawnmowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or custodial work is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.
- Valid California Driver's License and reliable transportation are required.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of safety procedures and equipment operation is a plus.
