Responsibilities
- Process and organize public records requests in compliance with Kansas Open Records Act
- Digitize and archive documents using city record management systems
- Verify document authenticity and maintain chain of custody protocols
- Communicate professionally with citizens, attorneys, and city departments
- Prepare routine reports on request volumes and processing metrics
- Assist with records retention schedules and disposition procedures
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive municipal information
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred
- 1+ years experience in records management or administrative support
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and document scanning systems
- Strong attention to detail with proven organizational abilities
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid Kansas driver's license required
- Pass background check and fingerprinting clearance
