Responsibilities
- Administer pension plan benefits including eligibility calculations, distributions, and retirement counseling
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and California pension laws
- Manage participant records and maintain accurate pension databases
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial reports for regulatory bodies
- Conduct audits and reviews to maintain fiduciary standards
- Collaborate with legal counsel on policy updates and compliance matters
- Respond to participant inquiries regarding retirement benefits and plan provisions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of pension plan administration experience
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(k) regulations, and California pension codes
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Millennium Plus)
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or Certified Retirement Counselor (CRC) preferred
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Ability to manage sensitive confidential information with discretion
