Responsibilities
- Process 911 and non-emergency calls with accuracy and urgency
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and incidents
- Provide critical information to responding officers in real-time
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during emergency situations
- Operate radio equipment and specialized communication software
- Remain calm under pressure during high-stress scenarios
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and departmental policies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass background investigation and polygraph examination
- Basic typing proficiency (minimum 35 WPM)
- Strong verbal communication and active listening skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Valid driver's license with clean record
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanor offenses
- Experience in customer service or public safety preferred
