Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls from the public using CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) systems.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incidents based on location and type of emergency.
- Monitor and operate radio communications equipment to maintain constant contact with field units.
- Enter and update incident reports, criminal records, and field status information accurately.
- Provide critical information to first responders regarding weather, road conditions, and suspect descriptions.
- Handle high-stress situations with composure and adhere to strict radio protocols.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.
- Basic computer proficiency and typing skills (minimum 35 WPM).
- Ability to work rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends, including overnight hours.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely under pressure.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
