Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with professionalism and accuracy
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical personnel during critical incidents
- Operate radio systems and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) technology
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident reports
- Provide critical information to first responders and the public
- Work collaboratively with law enforcement agencies during emergencies
- Participate in ongoing training programs to enhance skills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to type 40+ WPM with accuracy
- Strong verbal communication and active listening skills
- Ability to remain calm under high-pressure situations
- Basic computer proficiency and technical aptitude
- Must pass background investigation and drug screening
- Valid California driver's license
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
