Responsibilities
- Answer and prioritize emergency and non-emergency 911 calls
- Dispatch police units using CAD systems and radio communications
- Maintain accurate incident logs and case documentation
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
- Operate radio, telephone, and computer systems simultaneously
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and HIPAA compliance
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid driver's license with clean record
- Ability to type 40+ WPM with 90% accuracy
- Pass criminal background check and psychological evaluation
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong multi-tasking and decision-making abilities
- US citizenship or legal resident status
- Basic computer proficiency (Windows OS)
