Responsibilities
- Receive, triage, and process emergency and non-emergency calls for service via radio, telephone, and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical resources to incidents rapidly and accurately based on established protocols.
- Enter and maintain accurate, detailed incident reports and data in the CAD system.
- Provide critical information and instructions to callers and field personnel during active incidents.
- Monitor the status of patrol units and re-route resources as needed to ensure efficiency.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information and departmental records.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Typing: Ability to type accurately and efficiently (typing speed and accuracy test required during interview).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely.
- Stress Management: Ability to remain calm, make quick decisions, and multitask under pressure.
- Requirements: U.S. Citizenship and a valid Washington State Driver's License required.
