Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency (911) and non-emergency calls for service accurately and efficiently.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incident locations using computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Monitor multiple radio frequencies and maintain situational awareness of ongoing incidents.
- Enter and update incident reports and status information into the law enforcement database.
- Communicate with field units to provide vital information and coordinate response efforts.
- De-escalate tense situations over the phone while maintaining professional composure.
- Collaborate with other emergency service agencies and support staff.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid Class C Texas Driverβs License.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and focused under high-pressure and stressful situations.
- Basic computer literacy and typing proficiency (minimum 35 WPM).
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
