Responsibilities
- Monitor and dispatch emergency and non-emergency calls to law enforcement, fire, and medical personnel.
- Input and update critical information into Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems in real-time with high accuracy.
- Maintain effective communication with field units, supervisors, and external agencies.
- Manage multiple incoming lines and prioritize incidents based on severity, urgency, and safety protocols.
- Provide essential information and assistance to the public via phone and radio channels.
- Adhere to strict regulations regarding public safety, confidentiality, and departmental policy.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current with evolving technologies and emergency procedures.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Must possess excellent typing skills (minimum 35-40 WPM).
- Strong decision-making skills under pressure and in high-stress situations.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and computer navigation.
- Bilingual skills in Spanish or other languages are a significant plus and highly valued.
