Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls from the public.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incidents using computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Maintain accurate and detailed logs of all dispatch activities and unit status.
- Provide critical information to responding officers to ensure officer safety.
- Coordinate with other agencies and support services during major events or emergencies.
- Monitor and update status of units in the field in real-time.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and focused under high-pressure situations.
- Proficiency with computers and ability to learn complex dispatch software quickly.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history.
