Responsibilities
- Dispatch Units: Receive emergency and non-emergency calls via phone and radio, and accurately dispatch police, fire, and EMS units to the scene.
- Monitor Systems: Maintain situational awareness by monitoring police car electronics, CCTV cameras, and automated license plate readers.
- Record Keeping: Create and maintain detailed logs and reports regarding incidents, arrests, and citations.
- Information Relay: Communicate critical information to field officers and assist the public with inquiries.
- Crisis Support: Provide dispatch support during major events, natural disasters, and high-stress situations.
- Database Management: Update and verify records in the CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) system in real-time.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Criminal Record: No felony convictions; background check and drug screening required.
- Skills: Strong typing skills (40 wpm minimum preferred) and excellent verbal communication abilities.
- Attitude: Ability to remain professional and calm under high-pressure, high-stress situations.
- Age: Must be at least 18 years of age.
