Responsibilities
- Receive, screen, and process emergency (911) and non-emergency calls from the public.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incident scenes utilizing CAD systems.
- Enter and update accurate incident reports, status changes, and field unit logs.
- Maintain constant communication with field units via radio to ensure officer safety and situational awareness.
- Provide accurate information and assistance to citizens, other agencies, and businesses.
- Coordinate with supervisors to prioritize calls and manage incident resources effectively.
- Assist in training new dispatch personnel and upholding departmental protocols.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Valid Class D Arizona Driverβs License required.
- Ability to type at least 35 words per minute with high accuracy.
- Must pass a comprehensive background investigation, drug screen, and psychological evaluation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Ability to remain calm and make quick, sound decisions in high-stress situations.
- Experience with computerized systems and MS Office software is a plus.
