Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls for service with accuracy and speed.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services to appropriate locations.
- Monitor and operate Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems and radio communications equipment.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of calls, incidents, and officer activity.
- Provide information to the public and assist callers in distress until help arrives.
- Collaborate with field units to ensure officer safety and efficient resource allocation.
- Perform administrative tasks and assist in the training of new personnel.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid California Driverβs License is required.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong computer literacy and typing skills (20-30 wpm).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-stress situations.
