Responsibilities
- Receive and accurately document emergency and non-emergency calls from the public.
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical units to incident scenes using established protocols.
- Maintain precise logs of all communications, radio traffic, and incident reports.
- Update field units with real-time intelligence and changing conditions.
- Monitor multiple radio frequencies and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems simultaneously.
- Facilitate communication between dispatch, officers, and external agencies during critical events.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate required.
- Valid Florida Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation, polygraph, and psychological screening.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to speak clearly under pressure.
- Typing speed of at least 35 WPM with high accuracy.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
