Responsibilities
- Receive and process incoming emergency 911 calls and non-emergency requests for assistance.
- Enter and maintain accurate, detailed logs and records of all dispatch activities and incident reports.
- Coordinate and dispatch police, fire, and emergency medical services to the scene of incidents.
- Communicate clear, concise, and accurate information to field personnel and other agencies.
- Monitor radio frequencies and surveillance systems to identify and respond to potential threats.
- Assist in the training of new personnel and provide support to senior dispatchers during high-volume periods.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- No prior law enforcement or dispatch experience is required; we are looking for candidates willing to learn.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or possess the legal right to work in the United States.
- Valid New Jersey driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to type at least 35 words per minute (preferred but not mandatory for the trainee role).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
