Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls via telephone and radio.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incident scenes.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all dispatch activities and incidents.
- Monitor police radio frequencies for officer safety and status updates.
- Provide information to the public and other agencies regarding police reports and status.
- Operate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems efficiently.
- Assist in the training of new dispatch personnel.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to type 35+ WPM accurately.
- Must possess a valid Texas Class C Driverβs License.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, holidays, weekends, and night shifts.
- No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history.
