Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency (911) and non-emergency calls with accuracy and speed.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incident scenes using Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Maintain precise records of all calls, including suspect descriptions, incident locations, and unit status.
- Coordinate communication between field units and central dispatch to ensure public safety.
- Monitor police scanner frequencies and update incident status in real-time.
- Provide clear, concise instructions to callers until responders arrive on scene.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid New Mexico Driverβs License required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to remain calm during high-pressure situations.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- No felony convictions; must pass a background investigation and drug screen.
